Three face drug charges after disturbance call in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. -- Three people face multiple drug charges after deputies respond to a disturbance call at a home in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said it happened on October 16 at 7:42 a.m. The sheriff's office received a 911 call for a disturbance which was reported at a home in the rural part of the county.

The caller reported a male on the property might have injuries, the sheriff's office said.

Once deputies got there, they were given information by the homeowner on how to enter the home. They went inside and found a male who was having medical issues. An ambulance was then requested to come help him.

While they were inside the home, deputies saw "significant amounts of narcotics and narcotics associated with paraphernalia," the sheriff's office said.

Deputies then got a warrant to search the property and collected methamphetamine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Three people were taken to the Franklin County Jail and face multiple charges each.

Chelsey N. Atwood, 33 of Benton, faces charges of Possession of Methamphetamine 15-100 grams, Possession of Cannabis 100-500 grams, Possession of Firearm without a FOID Card and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Jason P. Pruit, 38 of Benton, faces charges of Possession of Methamphetamine 15-100 grams, Possession of Cannabis 100-500 grams, Possession of Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Charles A. King, 40 of Granite City, faces charge of Possession of Methamphetamine 15-100 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
