MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- A woman was arrested after authorities said she made a threatening remark when leaving a courtroom on Wednesday.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said on November 27, Kalea Ricketts was ordered to be removed from the courtroom during a court proceeding after a profane outburst.
The outburst from Ricketts occurred after the state's attorney refused to "drop charges", along with a no contact order against her boyfriend who was appearing before the court, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office then stated Ricketts threatened courthouse security when she was being escorted out. The sheriff's office reported she said, "I'm going home to get a gun and coming back here to kill everyone."
“We take these types of threats very serious. Anytime the Court is disrupted, public space becomes the backdrop of threats, or visitors to these spaces are threatened we are going to take action," stated Sheriff Jeff Diederich.
Deputies with the sheriff's office said they found Ricketts in the 200-block of Jackson Street in Marion. She was then taken into custody.
The sheriff's office said they cited Ricketts with a Making A Terrorist Threat charge.
Ricketts was then taken to the Williamson County Jail.
