9 AM CDT /10 AM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 to 30 degrees
expected over most of the region. Everyone should see a 32 degree
low or close to it.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From midnight CDT /1 AM EDT/ tonight to 9 AM CDT /10 AM
EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Williamson and Franklin
Counties.

.Heavy rainfall has ended across the area. The Big Muddy River is
continuing to rise and crests are expected over the next week.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...Major
flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 25.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM CDT Sunday was 25.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.4
feet Wednesday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Woman arrested in connection to prostitution investigation, sheriff's office says

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- A woman was arrested in connection to a prostitution investigation on Tuesday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said on February 4, one of their detectives was undercover and contacted a woman who posted a prostitution ad on a website. 

Authorities stated they are aware of websites used for prostitution ads.

The sheriff's office said the woman agreed to sexual services for money with the undercover detective and was later taken into custody at a hotel on Cairo Road, just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect was identified as Jasmine Shackles, 25 of Wickliffe. She was then taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Shackles was then cited with the following charges...

  • Prostitution
  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
