MARION, IL (WSIL) -- Despite the cool and wet weather, dozens of people visited the Marion Farmer's Market on Saturday.

Organizers said the market keeps growing. It's operated for more than 20 years and kept running through the pandemic last year.

They have fresh produce, meats, crafts and coffee. The market brings locals together each and every week.

Organizers tell News 3 the market helps build a sense of community.

" Over the years it's just grown from a place to shop to almost a gathering place where people have (gotten) to know their farmers, they get their fresh meat, eggs, cheese, baked goods, produce, plants, trees / we have some artisans here that really have some nice products, and it has just expanded." said Market Manager, Jeanne Brumleve.

The Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 6 am to Noon. It's downtown in the parking lot of the Senior Center.
