
METROPOLIS, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- You can go back to the 1700s and be apart of living history during the Fort Massac Encampment.Ìý
The event is taking place Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th.Ìý
Reenactors will show what life was like for colonial, British and French soldiers. Plus, Native American tribes. You'll get to see all sorts of demonstrations showing the early trades like blacksmiths and rope makers.Ìý
A few highlights include 42 Royal Highlanders Bagpipe band, voyagers canoe welcome at the riverfront, and the military and mock battle demonstration.Ìý
This year marks 50 years for the event, and to celebrate, there will be a drone show called History Takes Flight -- Saturday night only.
Several vendors will be selling food and other handmade items, all true to the time period.Ìý

- 9 a.m. - Shuttle service begins
- 10 a.m. - Post of the Colours at the Old Fort Area
- 10:30 a.m. - 42 Royal Highlanders Bagpipe Band
- 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. - Entertainment & Children's ActivitiesÂ
- 11:30 a.m. - Voyagers Canoe welcome at riverfront
- 1 p.m. - Fashion show near 5th street entrance
- 2:30 p.m. - Shuttle service ends (resumes after battle)
- 3 p.m. - Mock battle & Military demonstrationÂ
- 5 p.m. - Military retreat and closing ceremonyÂ
- 6 p.m. - Shuttle service ends dailyÂ
- 7 p.m. - History takes flight drone show (Saturday only)Â
