...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Williamson and Franklin
Counties.

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

.A couple more rounds of moderate to heavy rain can be expected into
the weekend. The rest of the event rainfall has been incorporated
into the river forecast.  The Big Muddy River has started to rise and
crests are expected over the next week. Now is the time to prepare
for flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 14.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon and continue rising to a crest of
28.1 feet Tuesday evening.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

.Showers and storms have produced 2 to 5 inches of rainfall across
most of the Quad State since Wednesday. A few isolated zones have
received as much as 8 inches as of early this morning. Another 4 to
8 inches of rainfall forecast through Sunday will result in a
particularly dangerous flooding and flash flooding situation.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding and flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected. With 2 to 8 inches already fallen and another 4 to 8
inches forecast, a particularly dangerous situation is likely to
develop.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...
...This is a particularly dangerous situation...

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams,
and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams
may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Extensive street flooding may develop. Flooding may occur in homes,
businesses and other locations not normally subject to flooding.
Roadways may wash away near creeks and culverts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of locally heavy rainfall over several days
will result in extreme forecast amounts of over 1 foot of
rain that will cause the risk of flash flooding and flooding
to rise markedly and create a particularly dangerous flooding
situation.

Monitor later forecasts and be alert for Flash Flood and Flood
Warnings. Be prepared to take action when flooding develops.

Herrin teen hits cop with car

HERRIN, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- Two teens are arrested after hitting a police officer with a car and leading authorities on a high-speed chase.Ìý

On November 5th, Herrin Police Department received a complaint around 6 p.m. about to two teens causing a disturbance on the 300 block of North 18th Street.

The female complainant stated the two suspects were threatening to kill her.
They've now been identified as 18-year-old Kaley A. Wilson of Herrin, Illinois and 18-year-old Kristie L. Cheatham of Carterville, Illinois.

Dispatch sent officers T. Bond and M. Williams to the scene. At that time, Wilson and Cheatham were in a Mazda outside the residence with Wilson in the drivers seat.

When officers tried to make contact with the Wilson and Cheatham, Wilson put the vehicle in reverse and hit Officer Williams' patrol vehicle.
Ìý
Wilson then put the vehicle in drive and struck Officer Bond with front of her vehicle injuring his ankle and drove away.
Ìý
Officer Williams and Officer Bond chased after her as other officers with the police department joined in to help.
Ìý
A short vehicle pursuit ensued westbound on West Herrin Road to Carterville, Illinois where both suspects were arrested.
Ìý
Cheatham was issued citations for resisting a peace officer, possession of adult use cannabis in motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Ìý
Wilson was issued citations for resisting a peace officer, speeding 95 mph in a 45 mph zone, aggravated fleeing/eluding police officer, fleeing/eluding police officer, reckless driving, illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeyed stop sign x2, possession of adult use cannabis and aggravated battery to a peace officer.Ìý

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
