Are Peacocks in Southern Illinois to View the Eclipse Too?

  • 0

CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Many people are gathering in southern Illinois for the total solar eclipse on Monday, including some uncommon feathered friends.

With many visitors here for the eclipse, restaurants are packed inside and in the drive thru.

A News 3 crew just happen to see something which caused a double take in the drive thru at McDonald's in Carterville... a peacock.

Yep, apparently this colorful feathered bird was hanging out in a trailer in the drive thru while people in the vehicle pulling the trailer were taking a break to get some food.

So, we assume the peacock is here to get a glimpse of the total solar eclipse, just like the rest of us... right? Maybe. If so, let's just hope this bird has some safety glasses which fit their head.
