GOLCONDA, Ill. (WSIL) -- Fire crews in and around Golconda were called out on Friday morning to a fire spreading through a large building on Main Street.

Firefighters from Golconda, Rural Pope County and Rosiclare were called to the scene at around 11:30 a.m. along East Main Street to a building on fire.

Video from a viewer shows a large metal building smoking with firefighters attacking the fire by spraying water inside it.

The Golconda City Clerk tells News 3 the structure used to be an old laundromat and is now being used as a garage or mechanical shop.
