CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The City of Carbondale is getting into the Christmas spirit and announced the date for their Annual Tree Lighting event coming up.
The Annual Tree Lighting event will take place on Wednesday, December 4, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Town Square Pavilion, the City of Carbondale announced.
At this event, there will also be cookies, hot cocoa, crafts and Santa.
There will also be a drop-box for the Carbondale Police Department for their annual Coats for Kids Drive. The city is asking for these coat donations to be for children ages 1 through 10.
The days after the initial tree lighting, at 5 p.m. on every evening throughout the holiday season, the tree will be lit.
Information on other events will be forthcoming, including the Lights Fantastic Parade on December 7 and a Candy Walk event.
