CARMI, Ill. (WSIL) -- A deputy was injured after he was involved in a crash while responding to another call on Tuesday.
The White County Sheriff's Office said on March 11, at 5:21 p.m., one of their deputies, along with a White County ambulance, responded to a call involving an injured juvenile in relation to an ATV crash.
While responding to the call, the sheriff's office said the deputy collided with another vehicle in the area of Route 1 and County Road 1500, then ran off the road, went airborne and rolled over multiple times.
EMS, Carmi Police Department, Norris City Police Department, along with other members with the White County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene.
The other vehicle had a driver and juvenile passenger. They were not reported to have any injuries.
The sheriff's office said the deputy was taken to Deaconess Hospital with injuries. Sheriff Jordan Weiss said the family informed him the deputy had a fractured collarbone, but was released from the hospital.
