CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A local organization who supports survivors of violence is now looking to make a statement to the public they are here to help.
The Survivor Empowerment Center has scheduled their Take Back The Night event for October 26, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. in Carbondale.
They plan on meeting at the Gaia House at 913 S. Illinois Ave, in Carbondale, at 6 p.m. and will march down the strip to the pavilion.
Once at the pavilion, they will have survivors there to speak about their experience with domestic violence.
Free hot chocolate and cookies will be provided at the event.
