Emergency officials say Special Operations Dive Team member DeWayne Hillman lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at his home on Monday.
Hillman had formerly served as a firefighter in Hurst and later joined the Franklin County EMA.
A visitation service will be at 11 this morning at Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin followed by a funeral services at 1 o'clock.
Hillman's EMA family said he was a dedicated public servant.
