...Funnel clouds will be possible through this afternoon...

There have been reports of funnel clouds today. These funnels
are developing underneath a few showers that are moving across the
area. Underneath these showers...spinning columns of air that
look like tornadoes may continue to develop. These funnels usually
are very brief and rarely touch the ground. If these funnels do
touch down...they most likely will not cause damage to life or
property.

These funnels are due to cooler air aloft...warm moist air near
the ground...and are usually in association with a strong area of
low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Due to little
or no wind shear...they are usually weak and very brief.

ELIZABETHTOWN, IL (WSIL) -- A fallen deputy is being remembered throughout Southern Illinois.

Hardin County Sheriff's Department announced the passing of deputy Rusty Warren on Wednesday.

The department said on their Facebook page Warren passed away after battling stomach cancer.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Warren.

His visitation is scheduled for Sunday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg, IL. The funeral is to follow starting at 1 p.m.

"Deputy Warren was a devoted husband, father, and friend," Hardin County Sheriff's Department said in a Facebook post. "He was a brother in blue that everyone could county on and we will miss him dearly."

They continued, "We send our condolences to his family and friends and ask that you please remember them in prayer. Rest easy 934 we will take it from here."
