Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels on the Big Muddy River will continue to drop, falling below
flood stage at Plumfield Sunday, and at Murphysboro Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 25.2 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 25.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 18.4 feet
Tuesday, April 22.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
25.2 feet on 03/30/1977.

Local holiday event helps 1,000+ with gifts and food

ELDORADO, Ill. (WSIL) -- A local holiday event helped more than a thousand with gifts and food.

The Fowler Bonan Foundation/Heaven's Kitchen hosted a free Breakfast with Santa event where many came by to get food and gifts over the weekend.

This event was held at the Eldorado Community Center on December 14.

Organizers say at one point, there were so many people a line wrapped around the building and down the street.

Those in attendance were able to get a good meal, along with gifts which include books, DVDs, toys and more.

Organizers thank all of the volunteers which helped make this possible as well.
