MARION, Ill. -- Multiple reports for scams targeting senior citizens have been reported to police over the past two weeks.
The Marion Police Department stated the reports they have received occurred at self-check-out stations at large retail stores.
On Friday, police released photos of two people they suspect are involved.

Police earlier in the week said one or two males, which are possibly Middle Eastern or Arabic descent, were reported to watch people enter their PIN while checking out and paying for their items. At this time, police said the shoppers are distracted by being told there is a $20 on the floor, at which time the suspect(s) will then take the debit/credit card out of the checkout station and then quickly leave.
"On one occasion, the suspect followed the shopper out to their vehicle and attempted to use the 'money on the ground' ruse," Marion police said in a press release.
Police said the suspects are fluent in the English and Russian languages.
They urge everyone to be aware of your surroundings, try to cover the keypad when checking out and call police if you find yourself in this type of scam situation.
