Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Motorists urged to avoid I-57 at 68 mm in Franklin County due to semi-truck crash

BENTON, Ill. -- Authorities are urging motorists to avoid I-57 near the 68 mile marker due to a traffic crash in a work zone.

The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency is alerting the public of a semi-truck crashing in the median in this area.

This area is roughly three miles south of the Benton exit.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes while emergency crews work the crash scene.
