...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values of 100 to 105.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

One Dead After Single-Vehicle Crash in Union County

ALTO PASS, Ill. -- One person is dead after a vehicle crash in Union County on Wednesday.

A member with the Illinois State Police tells News 3 the crash happened along Illinois 127 near Mt. Glen Road at 11:38 a.m. on September 4.

A preliminary investigation by ISP states a person was driving a black 2016 Hyundai when the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.

The driver was reported as the only person inside the vehicle.

ISP says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
