One seriously injured after vehicle vs pedestrian crash in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Police are investigating a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in Carbondale.

The Carbondale Police Department said the incident happened in the 1200 block of West Main Street. Officers responded to the scene at around 10 p.m. on October 9. Once they arrived at the scene, they found a person in the roadway with serious injuries, however, police indicated they were not life-threatening injuries.

Police said the person was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was not injured and was said to be cooperating with the investigation.

Carbondale police said they started investigating and found the pedestrian entered the road into traffic in an area where there was not a designated crosswalk.
