CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Police were on scene of a crash earlier in the area of East Main Street and Giant City Road. This happened at around 2:04 p.m. on August 9, according to the Carbondale Police Department.
Carbondale Police Department first alerted the public about the crash at 2:10 p.m. on Friday and said this may cause possible nearby traffic congestion.
Police later said a vehicle was going east on East Main Street when it swerved over and sideswiped another vehicle and then rolled over.
Traffic was down to one lane as police and fire were working the crash scene.
One person was taken by ambulance to the emergency room for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle which swerved was cited for improper lane use and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
