CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Saluki Takeover Tour of Southern Illinois spans from April 24 though May 4, with stops through all 17 counties in the southern part of the state.
The tour consists of receptions and meet ups, visiting local schools with five Chancellor's Receptions across the area.

“Saluki spirit is evident everywhere we go, but it has its roots right here in Southern Illinois,� said Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Austin A. Lane. “These takeover tour events are a terrific opportunity for our local alumni and friends to engage with our leadership and share their Saluki experience with others.�
The keystone event, Southern Illinois Celebration, takes place on May 4 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Walker's Bluff Casino Resort with recognition potential and incoming students with SIU Carbondale.
