Shawnee Community College announces new Vice President of Student Affairs

ULLIN, Ill. -- Shawnee Community College has announced their new Vice President of Student Affairs on Monday.

Jeff McGoy, originally from Cairo, Illinois, will take the place of the current VP of Student Affairs Dr. Lisa Price, after retiring at the end of 2023.

The Board of Trustees approved to hire Jeff McGoy on Thursday, October 19.

McGoy worked at Shawnee Community College earlier in his career in several capacities, including as an adjunct instructor.

Currently, McGoy is the Director of Exploratory Student Advisement at SIU-Carbondale.

“We are excited for Jeff to join the Saints family in this new capacity. He has a clear passion for working with and for students. He will excel as Vice President of Student Affairs, and we are confident he will positively impact our students, faculty, staff, and community members,� said Dr. Tim Taylor, SCC President.

McGoy will take on his new role at Shawnee Community College on November 27, 2023.
