WAYNE COUNTY, Ill. (WEVV) 鈥� Some schools in Wayne County went on lockdown Friday morning as the result of a shooting in the town of Cisne.
Officials with聽North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 said Friday morning that all of the district's schools were placed on precautionary lockdown.
The precautionary lockdown was lifted just before 9 a.m., the district said, with all students and staff members safe.
Wayne County Sheriff Chris Otey said that the incident in Cisne was "secure" and that a suspect had been detained.
The sheriff said that the public may see a heavy law enforcement presence in the area as deputies continue to investigate the incident.
