NORRIS CITY, Ill. (WSIL) -- A man is dead after a traffic crash in southern Illinois on Tuesday.
The White County Sheriff's Department reported a single-vehicle crash happened along Route 1 near County Road 875 East on the morning of November 26.
The sheriff's office said once a deputy arrived at the scene, they saw a Ford truck had hit a tree.
The driver of the truck was identified as Steven Martin of Herald, and was reported dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office said it is unknown at this time the cause of the crash, however, an autopsy is scheduled for Martin.
The White County Coroner Chris Marsh, Ambulance Director Adam Allen and the Carmi Police Department assisted the White County Sheriff's Department with the incident.
