Suspect sought after buildings hit by gunfire in Carbondale, police say

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Police in Carbondale are looking for a suspect involved in a shots fire call on Monday.

The Carbondale Police Department alerted the public on October 14, stating they are looking for a dark colored vehicle which was last seen going east on East Grand Avenue in regards to a shots fired report in the early hours on Monday.

Officers responded to the area of the 1000-block of East Grand Avenue for a report of shots fired at 4:15 a.m. where police said a person in a vehicle fired several shots and then drove away from the area.

There were no injuries reported, but, police did say some structures were damaged in the area from the fired shots.
