CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Two people faces gun charges after a shooting damaged multiple vehicles and apartments in Carbondale last month.
The Carbondale Police Department said it happened on November 5, at 6:08 p.m. when officers responded to the 900-block of East Grand Avenue for reports of shots being fired.
When they got there, they found there were multiple vehicles and apartments that were damaged from shots fired in the area.
Police later said Kionte L. Scott, 18 of DeSoto, and Jakobi N. Shered, 20 of Carbondale, were suspects in the shots fired investigation.
On December 6, officers arrested Scott during a traffic stop in Carbondale.
The next morning, on December 7, Shered was arrested without incident.
Scott faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Shered faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Police said they found a gun and during the course of the investigation in which they believe was connected to the incident.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
