VIENNA, Ill. (WSIL) -- Volunteers and county officials took time on Thursday to fill sandbags in preparation for potential flooding in the City of Vienna.
Emergency officials in Johnson County and local residents filled sandbags at the Vienna City Park. They then started placing them around structures in the downtown area to protect them.
One of those businesses they are protecting is Ned's Shed which sits right by the Little Cache Creek which runs through the middle of Vienna.
In the past, this creek overflows onto 1st Street and Vine Streets, causing traffic to detour and shutting down nearby businesses.
