* At 639 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Cedar Lake
Area, or 7 miles southwest of Carbondale, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

near Carrier Mills, or 9 miles west of Harrisburg, moving east at 55
mph.

...Dangerous Severe Thunderstorms Moving through the Area this
Evening...

Several intense supercell thunderstorms are occuring across
southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky as of 6
pm. Any of these storms will be capable of producing very large
hail to tennis ball size, wind gusts to 80 mph and a few
tornadoes.

If your area receives a warning this evening, please take them
seriously and be near a sturdy shelter.

The severe weather threat is expected to move out of the area by
midnight.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

POMONA, Ill. (WSIL) -- Wine Trail Wilderness, a unique camping retreat in Southern Illinois, has earned a spot among the Top Vineyard Camping Experiences in the United States, according to Hipcamp.

Nestled on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, the 37-acre property offers campers easy access to the area's famed wineries and hiking trails. Wine Trail Wilderness is also within close walking distance of Pomona Winery and Hickory Ridge Winery.

“I’m thrilled our place has been listed as one of the top winery experiences in the US,� said Womack. “We’ve loved welcoming guests from all over the country since 2017. Most come for the wine trail, but they stay for the peace, the hiking, the wildflowers � and the chance to unplug.�

Guests have praised the retreat for its peaceful setting and scenic views. "Wine, music, food, peace and quiet, hiking, amazing views, and bright stars shining! We’ll be back," one camper shared on .

The campground features various campsites, a bocce ball court, and a social hub called the GrainZebo. It also offers access to hiking trails and nearby attractions like Little Grand Canyon.
