Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At both
Plumfield and Murphysboro, the river will continue to fall slowly
through next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Interstate 57 southbound closed at Ina exit

JEFFERSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- Illinois State Police say that Interstate 57 southbound is closed at milepost 83, the Ina exit.

IDOT says an unexpected road construction delay forced the closure. IDOT is using the ramps to divert traffic.

The delay is expected to last five to six hours, and IDOT asks motorists to use alternate routes.
