DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) -- Thursday night, John A. Logan College held its graduation ceremony at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
Officials say the venue allowed the college to hold the traditional event in person, while maintaining COVID-19 protocols.
Students were spaced apart while families and friends filled the grandstands.
Graduates tell News 3 they felt blessed to be able to walk across the stage.
"At the beginning I didn't know it was gonna happen, like anybody didn't know, but once they said we were gonna have graduation in person I was like okay, I'm pretty happy about that. I've got my parents down here too. Everybody's happy we got to do this in person so, its a good feeling" said 2021 JALC Graduate, Kyle Smith.
The college also hosted pinning ceremonies for License Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing students.
