Very warm to end the week, cooler air on the way

Friday

CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- High temperatures will be well above average Friday, topping out near 80 degrees. It certainly doesn't feel like the end of October. However, our next cold front will also move through on Friday.

The frontal passage will bring more cloud cover, and small chance for showers. That chance for rain is very small though. Most areas will stay dry and for those who do receive rain, amounts will be light.

This front will bring a bigger cool down than Wednesday's. By Saturday and Sunday, a more seasonable air mass will settle in. This will drop highs back into the 60s.

The cool down is brief, more warm temperatures return next week.
