LONE OAK, Ky. (WSIL) -- One man was sent to the hospital after a vehicle hit a pedestrian in Lone Oak over the weekend.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened at 6:35 p.m. on October 19, at the intersection of Lone Oak Road and Gilhaven Drive.
The sheriff's office said a Lone Oak man left the Huck's Gas Station and was walking back towards his home and began crossing Lone Oak Road.
When the man was in the center of the road, he was waiting for traffic to pass when a vehicle was attempting to turn into the Huck's Gas Station. The sheriff's office said both the man and the driver of the vehicle then tried to avoid each other, but the man ended up getting hit.
The pedestrian was then treated by Mercy EMS at the scene and then was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Mercy Regional EMS and the Lone Oak Fire Department assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
