MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. -- A telecommunications contract employee in Kentucky was air lifted to a hospital after deputies respond to a possible shooting report.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said at around 8:30 a.m. on January 31, deputies and detectives responded to the Hilldale Apartments in Hardin for a report of a possible shooting.

Once deputies got to the scene, the sheriff's office said they found a male victim who they believe may have been hit by an unknown projectile.

The victim was then taken by the Marshall County Ambulance Service and then air lifted to Baptist Health hospital in Paducah.

The sheriff's office said the victim was a contract employee of WK&T and he was there working on the property at the apartment. The victim is said to be stable at the time of release.

WK&T is a broadband, voice, video and security company which provides services to more than 19,000 subscribers in Kentucky and Tennessee.

The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff's office said they believe this is an isolated incident and they do not believe that the public is in danger.
