Local sheriff's office asks for help in finding missing service dog after crash on I-57

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) -- A local sheriff's office is informing the public to call them if they see a missing service dog in the area.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a 3-year-old female chocolate lab named Harley is missing after a crash on Saturday night.

The sheriff's office said the crash happened on the night of October 26 at the 85 mile marker on I-57 in the southbound lanes.

The dog got out of her collar, however, authorities said she does have a chip in her.

If anyone sees the chocolate lab, you are urged to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 618-244-8004 ext. 1.
