Man arrested, accused of trying to get in car with another person and armed

MOREHOUSE, Mo. (WSIL) � A man was taken to jail after law enforcement said he tried to enter a car with another person in it and was armed with a knife and scissors.

The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office said it happened in Morehouse on February 13, when they say a man tried to get in someone else’s car while they were still in it.

Deputies then looked for the person after they said the victim took a picture of him.

The sheriff’s office said they found the suspect about a block away and armed with a steak knife and scissors.

The suspect was identified as Robert Chambers, 38 of Morehouse. The sheriff’s office said he was charged with two counts of 2nd degree harassment.
