BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. -- Multiple law enforcement agencies found possible items which could be evidence in relation in a case of a child who went missing 35 years ago in southeast Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control (MSHPDDCC) stated their officers, along with the Bollinger County Sheriff's Office were assisting the FBI, Missouri Attorney General's Office and the Fredericktown Police Department on Monday, July 22.
The MSHPDDCC stated they were searching a rural property in Bollinger County for multiple days after a search warrant was issued in relation to an investigation into Gina Dawn Brooks who went missing in 1989.
Authorities said they found "items of possible evidentiary value" which they collected. The items will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory to be analyzed.
The MSHPDDCC stated no human remains were found during the search. Authorities did say the investigation into the disappearance of Gina Dawn Brooks is active and ongoing though.
