CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- A Cape Girardeau man faces drug trafficking charges after police executed a search warrant Wednesday on the 2800 block of Themis Street.
Darieth Nunley, 32, was charged with trafficking, delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Police said Nunley was taken into custody as he tried to run out the back door of the home after officers entered through the front.
Authorities said he had a backpack containing roughly 200 grams of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and prescription pills, along with drug paraphernalia.
During a search of the home, officers also found a firearm with an extended magazine and several rounds of ammunition, according to police.
Nunley is being held on a $30,000 cash bond.
Police said the arrest was the result of a joint investigation with Cape Girardeau police and the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force.
