CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Police in Cape Girardeau said only three stolen vehicles have been recovered, as opposed to the six recovered which was reported earlier, in reference to a burglary call on October 12.
Police made the correction on Monday, October 23, after a misunderstanding. However, they wanted to make the public aware about the incident and are urging anyone to contact them if they know anything.
Police said on Thursday, October 12, at around 6:45 a.m., officers went out to the 300-block of Siemers Drive for a burglary report.
After they got there, they saw damage to a showroom window, along with a vehicle there which was reported stolen from the St. Louis area.
Officers then found seven vehicles were stolen from that location in Cape Girardeau, police said. They said the total approximate value of the vehicles is $850,000.
The four remaining stolen vehicles they are looking for are two 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats, a 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack and a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX.
These vehicles have been entered in the National Law Enforcement Database after the theft.
They also said one suspect is in custody in St. Louis on different charges at this time.

Less than a week later, a dealership in Harrisburg reported a burglary there were several Dodge vehicles were stolen. One of the stolen vehicles was reported to have crashed in Benton and one person is in custody with that investigation.
