Lane Closure

OAK GROVE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reported Friday night, September 27, the right westbound lane of Interstate 24 was blocked near the 91 mile marker in Christian County after heavy rainfall resulted in damage to the roadway.

The location is between the Kentucky Welcome Center and Exit 89 (KY 115) in Oak Grove.

The ground became oversaturated due to heavy rainfall, causing a section of concrete pavement to fail.

The right lane will remained closed for an extended period of time.

Crews plan to make repairs to the damaged area once the weather clears and it is safe to do so.

Motorists are asked to use caution as the remnants of Hurricane Helene continue to drop large amounts of rain across the commonwealth.
