...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Operation Santa: USPS launches site to adopt letters to Santa

(WSIL) � You can help provide Christmas to kids in need with the U.S. Postal Service’s "Operation Santa."

Letters to Santa are available for adoption . You can pick a letter from any city in the country and send the gifts on the child’s wish list. Many of the letters ask for basic necessities like a warm coat or new shoes. 

To protect children’s privacy, Postal Service staff redact family names and addresses and instead add a code to each letter. 

Gifts must be mailed by December 20.
