Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Person hit and killed by vehicle in Murphysboro

MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- A person has died after being hit by a vehicle Monday night. 

Murphysboro Police say it happened around 5:20 p.m. on 14th street. 

Police received a call that a person was on a motorized wheelchair going down the road and wasn't visible in the dark. The driver ultimately hit the wheelchair. 

The victim, a 66-year-old woman, was laying on the side of the road when police arrived. She died from injuries sustained during the accident. 

Police are not releasing the victim's name at this time. 

The driver is cooperating with police as the investigation continues.
