(WSIL) -- It is with heavy hearts that we remember a longtime WSIL engineer, Robert Carter. Our friend and former colleague died on Thursday at the age of 83.
Robert got into the business when television was in its infancy and grew right along with the medium, a career that spanned parts of seven decades.
He was extremely talented at repairing cameras, tape decks and other equipment.
But Bob was just as talented at spinning yarns about his many experiences in the television business and beyond.
He also served in the U.S. Army and was a Ham radio operator.
He is survived by his son, Michael, his grand-daughter, Sarah and many friends. Rest easy, Robert.
