Three stolen off-road vehicles recovered with help from other agencies

SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) The Saline County Sheriff's Office recovered multiple stolen off-road vehicles on Monday. The coordinated efforts involved several agencies and led to the capture of suspects linked to the thefts.

The first was a stolen ATV from rural Galatia. Saline County Deputy Kenny Shires recovered the vehicle with help from the Canadian National Railroad.

In a statement, Shires says, "Canadian National Railroad did a great job and we’re thankful for their help."

With the assistance of the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and the Eldorado Police Department, Saline County Deputy Adam Stanley located a stolen UTV from Hardin County and identified the suspect involved.

Saline County Sheriff Whipper Johnson also recovered another stolen UTV from Gallatin County.

A suspect was arrested, but the sheriff's office says the investigation remains ongoing as they believe it is connected to another vehicle theft.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, the Eldorado Police Department, and the Harrisburg Police Department all assisted.Â
