Morning Forecast January 24th, 2025
WSIL(Carterville, Ill.) -- This morning, most locations are waking up to temperatures in the lower teens and single digits across southern Illinois, but warmer temperatures further south are in the upper teens to lower 20s thanks to some lingering cloud cloud cover.Â
As we go through the day, you can expect to see mostly sunny skies. Temperatures by midday will reach the mid 20s, and highs in southern Illinois will reach the upper 20s to lower 30s this afternoon. Further south, temperatures could reach the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be out of the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour, so wind chill values may only top out in the mid to upper 20s.Â
This evening, we are tracking mostly clear skies and temperatures that wild drop into the lowe 20s by 9PM. However, a warm front will lift northward overnight, so temperatures by tomorrow morning will be back in the upper 20s to kick off Saturday. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s across southern Illinois, and the 50s are expected further south across southeastern Missouri and southern Kentucky.Â
This warm front will cause skies to be partly to mostly cloudy tomorrow. Overnight Saturday a cold front will move through the region. This could generate a few isolated rain showers. However, most locations will remain dry. Behind this front, we are tracking colder conditions for Sunday, with highs only in the mid to upper 30s.Â
High temperatures next week do look to warm into the mid to upper 40s to the 50s through the entire week.Â
