Teen arrested in Carbondale shooting

Investigation continues into Carbondale shooting

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) � Carbondale police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of North Billy Bryan Street on Sunday, May 25th.

Police say shots were fired from a white Chevy Impala. The shots hit a home, but no one was injured. 

Before officers arrived, the vehicle fled the scene.

While investigating, police identified a 15-year-old suspect from Murphysboro and obtained an arrest warrant. 

On Wednesday, May 28th, detectives arrested the teen suspect for charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. 

The suspect is held in a juvenile detention facility pending a court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing continues.
