ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Blue Bell Ice Cream is building a distribution center in St. Louis to bring its products to Missouri and Southern Illinois.Ìý
The 16,000-sq.-ft. center's construction is taking place in St. Peters, Missouri. It is scheduled to open on March 18, 2024.Ìý
“Consumers have contacted us through letters, phone calls, email and social media, asking when Blue Bell will be available in [the area],� said Jimmy Lawhorn, Blue Bell's vice president of sales & marketing. “We are happy to say Blue Bell is on the way! We will offer our full product lineup."
Ice cream will not be stored on-site, but the company will store all its products inside. The company promises to fill all distribution roles in-house to local stores.
While no specific stores have announced carrying the product, the company plans to distribute across Columbia, Jefferson City, Missouri and Southern Illinois.Ìý
Blue Bell will begin hiring for the center in early 2024.Ìý
