Calloway County man arrested on 16 warrants

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- A man was arrested on 16 warrants at a traffic stop Wednesday morning.聽

Deputies from the Calloway County Sheriff's Office initially pulled a car over at the intersection of South 4th and Sycamore Streets around 2:00 a.m. The passenger of the vehicle turned out to be Michael Gouin, 38, who was wanted on 16 warrants all out of Calloway County.聽

Gouin had previously gotten in legal trouble for missing trials, Meth possession, endangering minors, and several thievery charges.聽

According to a release from the sheriff's office, Gouin was hiding illegal drugs in the car, further incriminating him. Deputies took Gouin to the Calloway County Detention Center and issued him the following charges:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense -- Methamphetamine (Class D Felony)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • One Indictment Warrant (Bail Jumping)
  • One Bench Warrant -- Failure to Appear to Jan. 8 trial for Meth possession and Endangering a Minor
  • Fourteen Bench Warrants -- Failure to Pay (checks/theft of services/shoplifting, etc.)
