Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At both
Plumfield and Murphysboro, the river will continue to fall slowly
through next week.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 27.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Thursday evening.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Carbondale crash results in response from the Carbondale Fire Department

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Carbondale Fire Department responded to a traffic accident Saturday between a pickup truck and a car.聽

No lives were lost, but the driver of the car saw injuries to their hand and the car's front end.聽

The crash took place around 1:30 p.m. near McLafferty Road and Poultry Center Drive. The accident was a result of the car crashing into the back of the pickup truck. The truck had a boat with an SIU sticker attached. It was heading north on McLafferty Road about to turn onto Poultry Center Road.聽

The fire department blocked McLafferty Road to give crews the chance to clean the street and for the car to be towed.聽
