Emergency officials respond to I-57 crash

BENTON, Ill. -- Emergency vehicles are on sight of a traffic crash on I-57. 

The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency sent an alert at 2:12 p.m. alerting residents of the situation. 

According to the alert, the crash sits on the northbound side of I-57 at mile-marker 70. The closest listed exit is the Benton exit. 

Officials ask drivers to avoid the area if possible.
