ELDORADO, Ill. -- Ferrell Hospital is set to reopen their hospital facility on August 6, nearly three months after they closed their doors due to extensive flood damage.
The hospital will resume their services on Tuesday, which includes their emergency department, according to hospital officials. The Ferrell Hospital Family Practice clinic, is expected to reopen later in August, however.
"We are thrilled to once again open our doors and serve our community," Ferrell CEO Tony Keene said. "The past few weeks have been challenging, but thanks to the incredible efforts of our staff, restoration teams and the support of our community, we're coming back stronger than ever."
Health officials with the hospital state their building has had a thorough inspection and received approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health. They said they have met a or exceeded safety and operational standards.
Here are some highlights in regards to the reopening from the hospital:
- All hospital services, including the Emergency Department, will be fully operational on August 6.
- Surgeries will resume immediately.
- The hospital will begin rescheduling appointments and taking new bookings starting August 6.
- The family medicine clinic inside the hospital will reopen later in August (exact date to be announced).
