HERRIN, Ill. -- Crews responded to a large fire on Thursday morning in Herrin.

According to Herrin Fire Chief Shawn Priddy, the fire occurred in a large out building at 17th and Harrison. By the time crews arrived at the scene, the building was reportedly fully engulfed.

Pictures sent to News 3 from viewer Carla Bacon Nolen show a notable plume of smoke emanating from the building. Priddy confirms the building was deemed a total loss.

Priddy also told News 3 there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire.

The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal has taken over the investigation.
